Brewery dog of the year 2018
Smiling Samoyed Brewery is an independent family-owned award winning brewery. Every single drop of Smiling Samoyed beer, in both kegs or in bottles, has been made and packaged on site at Myponga. Visitors can see the brewery through a window from the dining room and can even see the brewers in action on the brew-house on occasion.
Smiling Samoyed Brewery was founded in 2012 by husband and wife team, Simon Dunstone and Kate Henning, after a home brewing hobby got out of control.
The brewery and brewery bar quickly earned a reputation for excellent craft beers, delicious food and fantastic atmosphere. We proudly host special celebrations for our guests including wedding receptions, engagements and birthdays. There are a range of beers sure to please every palate including ’12 Paws’ Pale Ale, a Dark Ale, an Australian Kolsch and an IPA and our brewery bar also stocks a range of local wines, ciders, spirits and soft drinks. We are proudly family friendly with a playground next to the brewery bar, easy access to the Myponga Reservoir for a walk, colouring sheets and our signature hot chocolate samoyeds. In addition to our lunch service we offer special experiences including brewery tours and guided tastings. Contact our friendly venue team for more information.

The brewery is named after Simon and Kate’s Samoyed dogs who have become much-loved mascots at the brewery. The original ’12 Paws’ of the brewery were Mia, Cooper and Poppet. Our current Ambassa-dogs are Hoppy and Kent. Hoppy came through the RSPCA SA in 2014 as a 6 month old puppy and has proudly served as the Ambassador for the RSPCA Million Paws Walk as well as being awarded Brewery Dog of the Year in 2018. Kent joined the family in 2019.
